Reflection:

In The New York Times article “Trump’s Proposed Budget Would Cut a Major Ecology Program,” journalist Rebecca Dzombak discusses funding cuts to the Ecosystems Mission Area program, which examines various facets of the ecosystem and humans’ impact on them. With the proposed budget for 2026 funding hundreds of millions of dollars less than what is now given for this cause, the article emphasizes on the impact that the budget cut would have on the research.

This article reminds me of my ELA podcast project because for that project we explored how reduced government spending connects to education and research. If the government's purpose includes serving the people and their needs or desires, why cut back on research---an avenue for progress in today's information-driven world?
