Reflection:

In the article “Fact-Checking the ‘President Who Follows Science,’” the journalists discuss a statement that the White House gave for Earth Day. The story is formatted as annotations and refers to specific chunks of the statement in order to provide more elaboration on the accuracy of these statements.

It’s interesting because in general I feel like people would think that a leader would try extra to not sound contradictory when giving public statements. But this is a case that’s the opposite, as justified through the journalists’ work. The formatting of these kinds of stories is insightful because it makes you look at something through a different lens. I appreciate this type of formatting because it kind of feels like I’m getting an insider’s look into the process of writing an article since it’s an annotation format.
