Voting restrictions are controversial and timely. With the midterms coming up next month, one can expect accusations of voting fraud flying across the political world. In the article “The Takeover: Will Wisconsin’s Republicans make voting meaningless or merely difficult” by Dan Kaufman, the writer shows the perspectives of Republicans through his interviews while emphasizing on the voting restrictions that have been enforced. For example, the state does not allow people to have their vote dropped off by someone else. This, Kaufman writes, is an issue since there are thousands with disabilities whose voice will not be properly taken into account without the opportunity to vote.

This article is interesting. It shows the diverse perspectives people have while showing how one’s mindset affects one’s actions significantly. Although reading about the complexities behind politics is messy, it is intriguing. Learning something new. Having an open mind. Being understanding and accepting.
